Welcome, foodies!
I hope you are doing well and making the most of your days, considering the situation. I hope this post brightens up your day and opens your appetite, because I might have just found one of the best burger restaurants near Lisbon!
I can start by stating the only downside of this place: it’s not in the city centre. It is in Almada, which is a 20 minute car drive from Cais do Sodré, or about 35 minutes if you take public transportation. There’s also another one in Odivelas, but none of them are in very attractive areas tourism-wise.
This place is called Ribs & Company. When you walk in you can immediately feel the typical American ranch restaurant vibe with all the wooden decoration and the barbecue scent (which, at the end of the evening, might not be that nice because it gets stuck in your clothes, ahah). The sitting area is quite spacious and very comfortable.

As the restaurant’s name states, its focus is in typical American barbecue food, like burgers, hot dogs, ribs and so on. They also have fresh juices, typical American milkshakes, cocktails and other drinks. They have an extensive menu where you can choose so many different things - you can check their menu here!
So far, I have been to Ribs & Company twice. My friends asked for a starter of mac and cheese, and I took a bite and it was pretty nice! In Portugal this is not a very common dish, so this was the second time I tried it and it was definitely better than the first one (Crispy Mafia, a restaurant that’s also in Lisbon).
I asked for the Classic Ribs & Co burger, which has the beef burger in brioche bread, cheddar and bacon and a bit of salad within - I asked for this one both times because my stomach can’t handle anything more, and I add some delicious potato wedges to go with it! It’s an additional 1.50 EUR to upgrade to these fries, but they are the best ones I’ve had! All burgers come with a bit of coleslaw aside, which I don’t really appreciate, but someone always ends up taking mine.

They have other burgers that have a wider ingredient diversity, and I got the chance to appreciate the view of some of them that other people who came with me asked for:
The Cowboy burger (with beef, bread, bacon, cheddar, barbecue sauce, mushrooms and sliced pork);

A combo of babyback ribs with hot & sticky spare ribs with a side of cajun rice;
For drinks I got a lemonade, which is pretty nice; some of our friends usually ask for the coconut lemonade and they always rave about it!
For my burger, including the fries upgrade, and a lemonade, I paid something between 10-15 EUR, which I think it’s so good considering the quality of this dinner!

They have an interesting thing going on in there which is the OMG burger challenge: you have 20 minutes to eat a 1kg burger with side fries. If you do it, you don’t pay for it, you get a t-shirt, a mug, a photo in their wall of fame and a 30 EUR voucher to spend in their restaurant. Fun fact: the wall of fame is empty so far! There’s a ton of photos of people who tried but this challenge must be so hard, since you need to eat everything, including the bread (which is MASSIVE!). Some of our friends talk about going for it and I would love to see someone try - I’m definitely not getting into that.
I have tried many other burger restaurants in Lisbon, and I have to say most of them are great - still, I would definitely add Ribs & Company to my top 5!
